Broke hits Big (continued from front page)
battle over Skips "accidental death" broke out struggling to find the truth. Brandi was brought up with charges of murder. However late in the 4th day of the case, a man who's name is not allowed to be disclosed, confessed that he removed the pool ladder from the Broke's small pool.
After her husbands death, Brandi's life didn't get any easier. By now she had a teenage rebel, a child on the edge of the same path, and a newborn . "It was so hard raising my second son when he wanted so much to be like his big brother, and I didn't need another son that snuckout all the time, beleive you me, I love all 3 of my sons, but it's just so hard," Broke told reporters.
Not too long afterwards, the eldest of the Broke children turned up missing, a runaway. Brandi was in tears... police were able to find him and bring him safely home. Brandi didn't know what to do. "I thought I must have been a horrible mother, I remember thinking that I could forget all my troubles if I just went to a bar for the night, so I did." But going to that bar was the smartest move Brandi may possible ever make. There she found herself face to face with Mr.Big. "The moment we layed eyes on each other I felt a connection."
Now, a year and 2 months after that lucky, turn around night, Mr and Mrs Big celebrate their one year anniversary. "Things just went uphill after our marriage." And uphill they went. Big was a great father figure for the three boys, and Dustin turned himself around and made it into a four year college. The two younger of the children, Beau and Skip Jr. started attending private school and the whole family came together. Broke went from...well broke..to...Big. "Just when I had lost hope, I found my feet again...my Big feet."
The Simmers Club; a little over a Year. Part I
Let me just start this article off saying that, as a member of The Simmers Club, you can’t go wrong in joining. I have been apart of this amazing community for almost a year now, and they are the friendliest bunch I've ever met. The Simmers Club opened last year on January 27th, it has just celebrated its 1 year anniversary, and what a year it was.
CJ, the site admin, with the help of many staff members from The Simmers Club, has done so much! In the first year alone they've managed to open a public exchange for all to share their creations, get a homepage at thesimmersclub.net, and reach nearly 2000 members! I have spent many nights up late in the chat room there, there's been many wild and crazy things going on there and you just don't want to leave.
So for the very first WeAreSim paper, I have decided to ask CJ, as well as some of the staff, Kimikay and Ashley, and a few members including malakia to answer a few questions and share their thoughts and opinions with me.
"When I first created The Simmers Club, I basically planned to start a small community of simmers I knew from the sims 2 BBS," shares CJ. " A place to to share my in game sims pictures and a chat room where we could all chat freely about the sims and whatever we felt like. I had no idea the would grow into the size it is today." And grow it did, with over 1900 members, 30 affiliates, and tons of custom creations, The Simmers Club is a great place to be. And apparently its only going to get better. CJ says his future plans for the site are "taking it to the next level" by "being known as a premiere download site." He also plans for TSC to be "one of the first premeire Sims 3 sites right from the release of The Sims 3." But beleive it or not, even CJ falls into a rut. "Many times, I have gone through periods of when I was not sure what to add and was discouraged by temporary drop offs in activity....I think all sites and site owners go through phases like that, you just have to keep pressing on and it will pass eventually." When asked what comes to mind when he thinks back on how far TSC has come, CJ said, " I get a kick out of looking at the web archives that has archived how The Simmers Club looked when it was just a forum with only 100 members, and then I look at it today and feel so proud of the community we have here and how much more members are here in just a year."
For all of you simmers out there looking to build yourself a top-notch site, CJ has some advice for ya. "Start small and don't get discouraged by people that make negative comments or are overly critical of your site and its content. Don't be discouraged if your site is slow to grow at first, you just have to keep at it and try to make your site stand out from the hundreds of other sites out there for sims."
"Never forget the people that helped make your site what it is today, always give credit to those that help you along the way, and always have fun with it!" And CJ always does, he always has fun with it. (Just ask him to tell you the story of a little Winglewoo named Gurglemak).
But there's more to The Simmers Club team. I've also interviewed Kimikay. Kimikay is a Global moderator at TSC. "My role at The Simmers Club is pretty well defined. I look over the boards.... Tink has made me mentor to a couple of the newer mods, which I really love. I mod the chat to make sure it stays safe. I have also helped out a couple of times with the Spotlight Creation. I love being a Global Moderator. I was shocked when I was picked to be a mod, and then when I was made a G Mod, I almost fell over. This is a fun place to be, and a wonderful community to help."
Kimikay was chosen as staff member of the month. No doubt why, she is a great help around TSC and really cares about it. But how did Kimikay actually get to this spot? What made her join TSC? All this and more in the next issue.
Check out the next issue for the remainder of Kimikay's interview as well as interviews from several other The Simmers Club members and staff.
